What is “Feel Good” about?
"Feel good" is a safe space where different individuals can share their stories and insights on what makes them feel happy, strong, empowered, confident and, well, good. “Feel good” is talking about the journey, the good and bad shit, how you’re embracing it and turning into something that allows you to grow – sometimes just talking about it and knowing that there’s people that are willing to listen to you (even if they have never met you!) really helps.
This is my story:
After years of struggling with loving and accepting myself I decided to get a little help from a friend. She opened my eyes to a lot of my issues and has consistently helped me work on getting to their roots.
The more I learn about myself and realizing what the things that have stopped me from loving myself are I’ve realized that what really matters is how I absorb this energy. I’m at a point in my life when I’m constantly focusing on growing and being an optimistic, positive person. My focus is on evolving, blossoming into whatever I’m meant to be and embrace the living shit out of it.
Dealing with your stuff and being not only honest but publicly open about it is hard – the internet is the place to meet a lot of good people but there’s also tons of unhappy people that are just looking to troll - this is why I wanted to create this, because I know I can’t be the only one that deals with anxiety, self-love issues, I’ve struggled with depression in the past as well.
Even if your pains aren’t the same as mine, we’re all looking for the same thing – to be at peace with ourselves, to be happy, confident. To enjoy our lives.
So I’m saying this with my head held high, I’m a fucked up human working on my shit. There’s beauty in being imperfect, constantly evolving, stop comparing ourselves to others, we are more than our bodies, we are more than our insecurities, we have so many layers – the work never stops, and that’s something I find incredibly exciting.
This makes me feel empowered, being aware that I'm a work in progress and accepting the changes I'm going through. Let go of control and go with the flow.
I would love you to be a part of this series!
If this resonates with you in any way, send me an email. "Feel good" is an open dialog, we all have different ways of coping with things, specially when it comes to expressing ourselves and whether you choose to be anonymous or not your entries can be in any form of art (boy, I know putting things into words can be real hard sometimes): illustrations, collages, mixed media, painting, poetry, photography, writing - anything! You do you.
