I bought a mirror from the 70's in our local Salvation Army and it's one of my favorite finds to date (here's a pic). When we moved I noticed that another corner had chipped and it bummed me out but I see situations like these as project opportunities. One of the things I really like about our house is how much light we get and there's a very specific time in the afternoon right before the sun sets that this little chip projects a little rainbow in our living room. It made me reconsider if that chip was really that much of a big deal? This mirror has evidence of clumsy owners (one of the panels was glued off when we bought it), but it still manages to put out something beautiful. Maybe I'm putting too much thought into it, but I'm just gonna let that little chip be. Who doesn't fucking love rainbows?
